Short Note- Parable
A parable is an allegorical story of human
characters which teaches a moral or religious lesson. There are many examples
of parables in religious texts, such the holy Quran and the holy Bible. The holy
Quran narrates many parables in various surah. In the Bible, the parable of
“The Prodigal Son” shows the importance of unconditional love and forgiveness. Even
though the Prodigal Son wasted
his father’s inheritance, it doesn’t mean he
should be cast away. The famous parable of “The Boy Who Cried Wolf” teaches the
importance of honesty. This moral is taught through a young boy who lies to get
attention. Eventually, he losses the trust of the villagers and has no help in
a true crisis. This famous parable is often told to young children to teach the
importance of being honest.
